ISLAMABAD, 22 July 2026—Personnel of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Islamabad, together with members of its attached agencies and their families, gathered for an informal Movie Night on 22 July 2026 at Centaurus Mall, providing a welcome opportunity to strengthen camaraderie, promote employee well-being, and foster work-life balance amid an increasingly demanding schedule of official engagements.
The activity brought together personnel of the Philippine Embassy, the Office of the Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché (OPhilDAFA), and the Office of the Police Attaché (OPA), with several Embassy personnel accompanied by their spouses and dependents, highlighting the importance of family support in overseas service. The group enjoyed the screening of The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan, in an evening dedicated to fellowship, relaxation, and meaningful interaction beyond the workplace. The gathering was likewise joined by Maj. Magno Ausente, PA of the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP), further enriching the occasion with the spirit of friendship and international camaraderie.
The Movie Night also served as a meaningful farewell gathering for Miss Francine Irah T. Montuerto and Miss Franziska Veah T. Montuerto, the daughters of MSgt. Francisco A. Montuerto, Administrative Assistant of the Office of the Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché, who are scheduled to return to the Philippines in the coming days after spending time with him during his overseas assignment. By fortunate coincidence, the evening likewise provided an opportunity to extend best wishes to Maj. Ausente of the UNMOGIP, who will soon conclude his tour of duty and depart Pakistan on 26 July 2026.

Beginning the last week of July 2026, the Embassy will assume the Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) for the second half of the year while continuing to carry out its regular diplomatic, consular, administrative, cultural, economic, and Assistance-to-Nationals responsibilities.
