ISLAMABAD, 10 July 2026—The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Islamabad participated in two community-oriented activities organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Islamabad as part of the lead-up to Indonesia’s Independence Day celebration, underscoring the spirit of ASEAN solidarity, cooperation, and mutual assistance among the ASEAN Member States represented in Pakistan.
On 8 July 2026, members of the Philippine Embassy joined the ASEAN Blood Donation Drive hosted by the Indonesian Embassy. Representing the Philippines were Police Attaché P/Col. Wilbert Charlie Perry A. Divina, Finance Officer and Attaché Mr. Manuel R. Ramos, and Locally Engaged Foreign Service Staff Mr. Billy S. Aguilar, Mr. Bakhtawar Shah, and Mr. Shujaat Ali Umer, who voluntarily donated blood in support of this humanitarian initiative.
The Embassy likewise participated in the Basic First Aid and Emergency Response Training conducted on *9-10 July 2026*, where Consular Assistant, Property Officer and Attaché Mr. Richelle Carlo L. Villaflor represented the Philippine Embassy. The two-day training, offered free of charge to ASEAN missions in Islamabad, covered essential emergency response topics, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid principles, wound and fracture management, casualty handling, triage, burns, choking, animal bites, and emergency transportation techniques. The program concluded with written and practical assessments and the awarding of certificates to participants.
The Philippine Embassy expressed its sincere appreciation to the Embassy of Indonesia for extending the invitation to all ASEAN Member States and for organizing activities that promote humanitarian service, disaster preparedness, and practical capacity-building among members of the diplomatic community.
The Embassy noted that these initiatives reflect the enduring values of ASEAN cooperation, where member states work together not only in advancing regional dialogue and diplomacy, but also in promoting volunteerism, resilience, and preparedness for emergencies.
