Philippine Embassy Conducts Consular Outreach Mission in Karachi, Serves Nearly 100 Filipinos

KARACHI, 14 June 2026 — The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Islamabad successfully conducted a Consular Outreach Mission in Karachi on 14 June 2026, bringing essential government services closer to Filipinos residing in Karachi and nearby areas.

The four-member consular team led by Vice Consul Rain R. Mendoza, and consisting of Consular Assistant Richelle Carlo L. Viliaflor, and Locally Engaged Foreign Service Staff Billy S. Aguilar and Hamza Ali Khan, traveled from Islamabad to provide a comprehensive range of consular services to members of the Filipino community.

The mission offered passport services, civil registry services, notarial services, overseas voter registration, and consular consultations on a variety of concerns, including citizenship matters, immigration-related issues, and other special cases requiring guidance and assistance from the Embassy.

Nearly one hundred Filipinos availed themselves of the services provided during the outreach mission. A significant number of those assisted were Overseas Filipino women who took time away from their personal and professional responsibilities to travel to the venue in order to access Embassy services without having to undertake the longer journey to Islamabad.

Throughout the mission, the consular team remained committed to ensuring that every client received proper assistance, guidance, and attention. No client was turned away without being provided with appropriate information, referrals, or recommendations regarding their concerns.

Demonstrating exceptional dedication to public service, the team continued serving clients well beyond regular operating hours. The mission extended until nearly midnight as personnel worked tirelessly to accommodate all individuals who sought assistance. In their commitment to ensuring that no Filipino was left unattended, the team’s dedication continued even after returning to their hotel, where a temporary makeshift passporting and assistance setup was established to accommodate a special request from a parent and child who could not afford to miss the opportunity to renew an expiring travel document.

The successful conduct of the mission was made possible through the invaluable support of the Philippine Honorary Consulate General in Karachi, led by Honorary Consul General Dr. Muhammad Imran Yousuf, whose team provided extensive logistical and operational assistance throughout the activity. The Honorary Consulate facilitated transportation, workspace arrangements, meals, internet connectivity, printing and photocopying services, office supplies, and other resources necessary for the smooth and efficient delivery of consular services. The Embassy likewise extends special appreciation to Mr. Muhammad Shariq and Ms. Farah Sadiq Khan for their unwavering dedication, professionalism, and all-out support, which greatly contributed to the success of the mission.

The Embassy also expressed its appreciation to Filipino community leaders and organizations in Karachi for helping disseminate information regarding the outreach mission. Their efforts ensured that Filipinos were informed well in advance, enabling many community members to adjust their schedules and maximize the opportunity to avail themselves of Embassy services.

The Consular Outreach Mission reflects the Philippine Embassy’s continuing commitment to responsive, accessible, and people-centered public service. By bringing government services closer to Filipinos overseas, the Embassy seeks to ensure that every Filipino, regardless of location, remains connected to their government and receives the assistance and protection they deserve.

The Philippine Embassy remains steadfast in its mission of serving the Filipino community throughout Pakistan through proactive outreach, efficient service delivery, and a commitment to excellence in consular assistance.

For the Philippine Embassy in Islamabad, no distance is too far and no effort too great when it comes to serving Filipinos overseas.END
