ISLAMABAD, 25 June 2026 — Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez joined fellow members of the diplomatic corps in two receptions held in Islamabad to bid farewell to outgoing ambassadors and extend a warm welcome to newly arrived heads of mission accredited to Pakistan.

The first reception was held on June 23, and was hosted by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Turkmenistan, H.E. Atadjan Movlamov. It was attended by ambassadors, high commissioners, senior officials of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of international organizations, and members of the diplomatic community. During the occasion, members of the Diplomatic Corps bade farewell to H.E. Mme. Eleni Porichi, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic, H.E. Mme. Marilina Armellin, Ambassador of the Italian Republic, and H.E. Mme. Irena Gancheva, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria, as they concluded their diplomatic assignments in Pakistan. The reception also included the traditional ceremony welcoming newly arrived ambassadors and their spouses.

Ambassador Fernandez likewise attended a High Tea Reception on June 25 hosted by Diplomatic Focus Magazine, which similarly paid tribute to the outgoing Ambassadors of Italy, Greece, and Bulgaria while welcoming the newly accredited ambassadors and high commissioners serving in Pakistan.

Such occasions reinforce the bonds of friendship and collegiality among ambassadors and heads of mission assigned to Pakistan. They also provide valuable opportunities for members of the diplomatic community to strengthen cooperation, exchange views on matters of mutual concern and interest, and foster the spirit of collaboration that underpins effective diplomacy.
