ISLAMABAD, 4 March 2026—Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez participated in the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) Heads of Mission Meeting held on 4 March 2026 at the Residence of the Indonesian Ambassador, H.E. Chandra Warsenanto Sukotjo, current Chair of the ACI.
Ambassador Sukotjo convened the meeting to review the Committee’s ongoing initiatives and discuss preparations for upcoming ASEAN activities in Pakistan. The ASEAN Heads of Mission exchanged updates on the ACI’s work program and deliberated on plans for future joint events and outreach initiatives aimed at strengthening ASEAN’s collective visibility and engagement with local partners.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for ASEAN representatives to discuss coordination on community-related initiatives and to exchange views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Ambassador Fernandez expressed the Philippines’ continued support for ASEAN cooperation in Islamabad and emphasized the value of collaborative activities that promote ASEAN solidarity and deepen people-to-people engagement with Pakistan.
Following the meeting, Ambassador Sukotjo hosted an Iftar dinner for the ASEAN Heads of Mission and their colleagues, providing an opportunity for further informal exchanges and strengthening camaraderie among ASEAN missions in Islamabad.
The participation of Ambassador Fernandez in the meeting underscores the Philippines’ commitment to ASEAN unity and coordinated diplomatic engagement, while advancing ASEAN’s shared presence and partnerships in Pakistan.
