ISLAMABAD, 12 August 2026—The Philippine Embassy in Islamabad received a delegation from the Rashid Latif Khan (RLK) Group, led by Prof. Dr. Saeed Ul Hasan Chishti, Pro Vice Chancellor of Rashid Latif Khan University (RLKU), during a courtesy call on Ambassador Emmanuel R. Fernandez.

Prof. Dr. Chishti was accompanied by Dr. Ayaz Qaiser, Registrar of RLKU, as well as Mr. Muhammad Asif Noor, CEO of Diplomatic Insight Group (DIG), and Dr. Farhat Asif, DIG Chairperson.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on Philippines-Pakistan cooperation in healthcare and education, particularly in areas where both sides see potential for greater institutional engagement.

The RLK Group shared its interest in strengthening linkages with Philippine institutions, including through medical and nursing education, faculty and student exchanges, scholarships, and other forms of academic and professional cooperation. RLK also expressed interest in learning from the Philippines’ experience in healthcare and exploring future institutional partnerships.

The discussion also touched on the upcoming Health and Education Summit Pakistan (HESP) 2026, scheduled for 29 August at the Expo Centre Lahore. Organized under the theme “Building Human Capital for a Healthier, Smarter and More Prosperous Future,” the Summit aims to bring together stakeholders from government, academia, healthcare, industry, diplomacy, and international development to promote practical partnerships and solutions in health, education, and workforce development.

Ambassador Fernandez welcomed the initiative and expressed the Embassy’s interest in exploring areas where Philippine institutions and professionals could contribute to mutually beneficial cooperation with Pakistani counterparts.

The Embassy looks forward to maintaining communication with the RLK Group and exploring concrete opportunities for academic, healthcare, and people-to-people exchanges between the Philippines and Pakistan. END
