PH Ambassador Attends Morocco’s Throne Day Reception in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, 31 July 2026—Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez attended the reception commemorating the Throne Day of the Kingdom of Morocco last 30 July 2026 at the Islamabad Serena Hotel.

The reception was hosted by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Mohammed Karmoune, and was graced by Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Petroleum, H.E. Mr. Ali Pervaiz Malik, as the Chief Guest.

Celebrated annually on 30 July, Throne Day is Morocco’s foremost national celebration, marking the anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne in 1999. The event brought together senior officials of the Government of Pakistan, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and other distinguished guests.

Ambassador Fernandez conveyed his warm congratulations to Ambassador Karmoune and, through him, to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the people of the Kingdom of Morocco on the joyous occasion of Throne Day. He reaffirmed the Philippines’ commitment to further strengthening its cordial and longstanding relations with Morocco, which have steadily expanded since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1975.

The Philippines and Morocco enjoy warm and friendly bilateral ties anchored on mutual respect, shared interests, and a common commitment to peace, sustainable development, and international cooperation. The two countries continue to work closely in multilateral fora while pursuing broader cooperation in trade and investment, labor and migration, education, culture, tourism, agriculture, and renewable energy.

Ambassador Fernandez expressed confidence that the enduring friendship between the Philippines and Morocco would continue to flourish for the mutual benefit of both countries and their peoples. END
