9(a-1) Business Visitors This is a visa for foreign nationals visiting the Philippines temporarily for scientific, commercial, industrial, professional and business purposes, who will not receive any compensation from a company or entity in the Philippines for services rendered in the country. 9(a-2) Tourism / Leisure Visitors This is a visa for foreign nationals visiting the Philippines temporarily for pleasure or tourism, leisure, religious, recreation, or amusement purposes, or to visit family, relatives, or friends, and staying for a predetermined amount of time. Additional Requirements ☐ Letter of permission from parent / guardian for minors ☐ Letter of guaranty from sponsor with proof of financial capacity and proof of residence in the PH (if applicable)
9(a-3) Medical Treatment Visitors This a visa for foreign nationals visiting the Philippines temporarily for medical treatment purposes or health reasons, including their escorts. 9(a-5) Filmmaking Visitors This is a visa for foreign nationals visiting the Philippines temporarily for movie or documentary filming purposes; provided that such temporary visit will not entail an employer-employee relationship with a company / entity in the Philippines or the payment of any compensation in the Philippines. 9(a-7) Athletic & Performing Arts Visitors This is a visa for foreign nationals visiting the Philippines temporarily for athletic and performing arts purposes; provided that such temporary visit will not entail an employer-employee relationship with a company / entity in the Philippines or the payment of any compensation in the Philippines. 9(b) Transit Visa A visa-required foreign national traveling to another country and transiting via the Philippines is required to secure a 9(b) transit visa. Transit period is limited to 72 hours or three (3) days in the Philippines. See General Requirements above.
9(c) Seafarer Visa This is a visa for seafarers traveling to the Philippines to join a vessel docked at a port in the country. General Requirements ☐ Signed notarized letter from employer / manning agency ☐ Vessel name & PH port details ☐ Passport valid ≥6 months ☐ 2 photo IDs (recent, colored) ☐ Round-trip ticket (if applicable)
9(c) Crew List Visa The Crew List Visa is issued for the entire crew of a registered vessel or aircraft landing in the Philippines. Personnel on the aircraft or vessel whose names are not included in the crew list visa or not possessing a valid individual Philippine entry visa will not be allowed to enter the Philippines. SIRV (Special Investor’s Resident Visa) The SIRV entitles the holder to reside indefinitely in the Philippines, permitting multiple entry privileges, so long as his investments remain in the Philippines. See General Requirements above. Additional Requirements ☐ Endorsement from BOI ☐ Proof of investment in PH Note: The SIRV is issued by the Bureau of Immigration upon endorsement of the Board of Investments (BOI). SRRV (Special Resident Retiree’s Visa) The SRRV is a special non-immigrant visa for foreign nationals who would like to make the Philippines their second home or investment destination. 13(a) Visa–The 13(a) Non-Quota Immigrant Visa is issued to foreign nationals who are legally married to a Filipino citizen, as recognized under Philippine law. The Filipino spouse must act as the petitioner for the visa. Applicants may enter the Philippines on a tourist visa and subsequently apply for conversion to 13(a) status with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration, if applicable. Kindly lodge your visa application at least one and a half (1½) months prior to your intended travel to the Philippines.

Requirements include:
  • Marriage contract or certificate (PSA-issued).
  • Filipino spouse’s birth certificate (PSA-issued) and passport.
  • Proof of legal residence for foreign spouse.
  • Duly notarized petition letter from Filipino spouse.
  • FA Form No. 3, photos, medical certificate, police clearance, proof of financial capacity.

Processing: Schedule personal appearance/interview for both spouses after initial document review.
Overview

The APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) facilitates business travel within participating Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies. The card provides eligible business persons with streamlined entry and immigration processing through a pre-clearance system that allows multiple short-term entries to participating economies using a single application. The ABTC is designed to support business activities such as trade, investment, and professional engagement between APEC economies.

  2. The applicant must represent a company or business entity engaged in international trade, including:
    • Sale of goods or services
    • Investment activities between APEC economies
  3. Personal Eligibility
  4. Applicants must:
    • Be a bona fide business person
    • Have never been charged or convicted of any criminal offense
  5. Professional Capacity
  6. Applicants must meet one of the following conditions:
    • Senior Business Leaders
      • Chairman
      • Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
      • President
      • Vice President
      • Chief Financial Officer
      • Regional Head
      • Board Member of a registered company
    • Must be vested with the authority to establish and implement management policies and negotiate trade or investment agreements.
  7. Designated Business Officials
    • An employee officially nominated by the CEO, President, or Regional Head
    • Must be directly involved in trade, services, or investment activities when traveling abroad.

Important Reminders
For ABTC Holders
  • The passport details must match the ABTC details.
  • Passports must generally be valid for at least six (6) months from the date of travel.
For Filipino ABTC Holders (Lost or Stolen Passport)
If your passport is lost or stolen:
  1. Report the loss immediately to ABTC-Philippines.
  2. Apply for a new passport.
  3. Submit a Notarized Affidavit of Loss explaining the circumstances of the loss.
  4. Once a new passport is issued, inform ABTC-Philippines of the new passport number.
  5. Apply for re-issuance of the ABTC, since some economies do not accept cards bearing passport details different from the current passport.
