Civil Registry
The Philippine Embassy in Islamabad provides civil registry services to Filipino nationals in Pakistan, in accordance with Philippine laws and regulations.
Civil registry documents processed by the Embassy are transmitted to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for registration and inclusion in the Philippine civil registry system.
General Information
- Report of Birth (ROB)
- Report of Marriage (ROM)
- Report of Death (ROD)
- Affidavit of Acknowledgment of Paternity (AAP)
- Affidavit of Consent to Use the Last Name of the Father (AULF)
- Other civil registry-related affidavits and certifications
Important Reminders
- Civil registry reports must be filed at the Philippine Foreign Service Post exercising jurisdiction over the place where the vital event occurred.
- Documents issued by foreign authorities must be duly attested or apostilled by the competent authority of the issuing country before submission to the Embassy.
- Processing at the Embassy is separate from registration and annotation at the PSA. Transmission to the PSA may take several months before the record becomes available in the Philippines.
- Applicants are advised to ensure that all entries are accurate and consistent with Philippine-issued documents (e.g., passport, previous PSA records).
Civil Registry Reports
A Report of Birth must be filed for a child born abroad to at least one Filipino parent. The Embassy transmits the approved Report of Birth to the PSA for registration. Once registered, the child may subsequently apply for a Philippine passport, subject to passport requirements.
Report of Marriage (ROM)
A Report of Marriage must be filed for marriages contracted abroad involving at least one Filipino citizen.
Registration with the PSA ensures proper recording of the marriage in Philippine civil registry records.
Report of Death (ROD)
A Report of Death must be filed for Filipino citizens who passed away abroad. This ensures proper recording of the death with the PSA and facilitates settlement of estate, insurance, and other legal matters in the Philippines.
Affidavits Related to Civil Registry
- Affidavit of Acknowledgment of Paternity (AAP)
- Affidavit of Consent to Use the Last Name of the Father (AULF)
- Delayed registration affidavits
- Other supporting civil registry documents
Processing and Transmission to PSA
After approval, civil registry documents are periodically transmitted to the Philippine Statistics Authority through official channels.
Applicants are advised that:
- Availability of PSA copies in the Philippines is subject to PSA processing timelines.
- The Embassy does not issue PSA-certified copies.
- Requests for PSA copies must be made directly through PSA-authorized channels in the Philippines.
