ISLAMABAD, 14 September 2026—The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Islamabad welcomed the visiting audit team from the Commission on Audit (COA), which arrived in Islamabad on the evening of 12 September 2026 to conduct the regular audit of the Embassy’s operations and accounts.

State Auditor IV Rosario R. Dimen, Audit Team Member, and State Auditor IV Rasmia M. Macabangon, Audit Team Leader, joined Embassy personnel during the flag-raising ceremony on 14 September before commencing their official activities for the day.

The audit team subsequently conducted an Entrance Conference with the Ambassador, H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, and concerned Embassy officials and personnel. The conference provided an opportunity to discuss the audit focus, requirements, arrangements, and other matters pertaining to the conduct of the audit covering the period 14 November 2023 to 14 September 2026.

The Embassy welcomes the conduct of regular audits as an important part of accountability, transparency, and good governance in public service. Beyond ensuring compliance with government rules and regulations, the audit process provides Post with an opportunity to identify areas requiring attention, correct deficiencies, strengthen internal controls and procedures, and continuously improve the management of its operations.

The Embassy likewise regards the audit process as an important reminder of the responsibility entrusted to every public servant to exercise prudence, accountability, and proper stewardship of government funds, property, and resources.

The Philippine Embassy looks forward to working closely and constructively with the COA Audit Team throughout its engagement in Islamabad and to translating its observations and recommendations into improvements in the Embassy’s systems and practices. END
