ISLAMABAD, 24 August 2026–Ambassador Emmanuel R. Fernandez received a courtesy call from Mr. Syed Sadat Hussain Shah and his team on 24 August 2026 in Islamabad. The meeting was joined by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Rain R. Mendoza.

The discussion explored potential areas of cooperation between the Philippines and Pakistan in tourism, trade, cultural diplomacy, and people-to-people exchanges. Among the proposals discussed was the possible organization of a tourism and business engagement bringing together Philippine and Pakistani tourism stakeholders, travel companies, and business representatives to identify opportunities for increased bilateral tourism and commercial linkages.

The meeting also explored possible collaboration in support of upcoming ASEAN cultural and tourism initiatives in Islamabad, including heritage-site visits for ASEAN Heads of Mission and possible venues and partnerships for future cultural and arts activities.

Ambassador Fernandez welcomed the proposed initiatives and expressed appreciation for Mr. Shah and his team’s interest in supporting stronger Philippines–Pakistan tourism, trade, and cultural ties. END
