ISLAMABAD, 6 August 2026--Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez attended the opening of the 16th Annual Photographic Exhibition, with the theme “Culture & Heritage of Pakistan: Our Identity, Our Pride,” at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in Islamabad on 6 August 2026.

Organized by the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Photojournalists Association (RIPJA) in collaboration with the Al-Sadaat Group, the exhibition showcased compelling photographs highlighting Pakistan’s rich cultural traditions, historic landmarks, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant communities.

Ambassador Fernandez participated in the event as Guest of Honour alongside Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Senator Talha Mehmood, and Al-Sadaat Group Chairman Syed Sadat Hussain Shah.

In his remarks, Ambassador Fernandez opened by recalling the familiar saying that “a picture paints a thousand words.” He observed that the photographs on display spoke eloquently of the richness and diversity of Pakistan’s culture and heritage. He thanked the photojournalists whose works were featured in the exhibition for capturing not only the beauty of Pakistan’s mountains, valleys, monuments, and cultural traditions, but above all the warmth, resilience, and spirit of its people. Through their lenses, he said, they were telling Pakistan’s beautiful story to the world. He concluded by encouraging the photographers to continue documenting and sharing the country’s remarkable heritage, inspiring greater appreciation and understanding of Pakistan both at home and abroad.
