Advance Celebration of the 250th Anniversary of US Independence

ISLAMABAD, 4 June 2026 —Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, together with his spouse Mme. Alicia Kalaw-Fernandez, attended the advance celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America hosted by U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Natalie A. Baker, at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.

The event was graced by the presence of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, H.E. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, as Chief Guest, alongside senior Pakistani government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and distinguished guests from various sectors.

In her remarks, Chargé d’Affaires Baker highlighted the enduring partnership between the United States and Pakistan, underscoring the importance of cooperation in promoting regional stability, economic growth, education, and people-to-people ties. Prime Minister Sharif, for his part, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding relations with the United States and emphasized the value of mutual respect, collaboration, and shared aspirations for peace and prosperity.
