ISLAMABAD, 13 May 2026—

Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez and his spouse, Mme. Alice Kalaw-Fernandez, attended the National Day Celebration of Azerbaijan held on 13 May 2026 at the Movenpick Hotel Centaurus Ballroom in Islamabad.

The reception was hosted by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Khazar Farhadov, and his wife, and was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, senior government officials, business leaders, and representatives of the international community in Islamabad.

The Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Senator Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and delivered remarks highlighting the close and longstanding ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, as well as the importance of regional cooperation and friendship.

Ambassador Fernandez’s attendance at the celebration was a testament to the warm and growing bilateral relations between the Philippines and Azerbaijan. The event also provided an opportunity for diplomatic engagement and exchanges with members of the diplomatic community and Pakistani officials. END
