PH Embassy Participates in IFWA-Mövenpick Fundraising Gala Dinner for The Blind

ISLAMABAD, 30 January 2026—The Philippine Embassy in Pakistan, led by His Excellency Ambassador Emmanuel R. Fernandez and his spouse, Mme. Alice Kalaw-Fernandez, attended the fundraising gala dinner organized by the Islamabad Foreign Women’s Association (IFWA) in collaboration with Mövenpick Hotel last 30 January 2026.

The gala dinner, held in support of the blind and visually impaired community, aimed to raise funds for inclusive education and accessibility initiatives. Proceeds from the event will contribute toward the acquisition of a Braille embosser for Baseerat School, an institution dedicated to empowering visually impaired students through education and specialized learning resources.

Ambassador Fernandez and Mme. Kalaw-Fernandez were accompanied at the event by Police Attaché Wilbert Divina and his wife, as well as the Administrative Assistant of the Office of the Defense and Armed Forces Attaché, TSG Francisco Montuerto and his spouse. Their presence underscored the Philippine Embassy’s strong support for charitable initiatives, community engagement, and international cooperation in promoting social inclusion and humanitarian causes.

Mme. Kalaw-Fernandez was recently elected Vice President of IFWA, reflecting her active involvement and commitment to the Association’s mission of fostering friendship, cultural exchange, and meaningful social impact within the diplomatic and local communities in Pakistan.

The IFWA-organised gala dinner brought together members of the diplomatic corps, civil society, and the local community for an evening of solidarity, reinforcing IFWA’s longstanding commitment to cross-cultural collaboration and humanitarian service.
