ISLAMABAD, 11 March 2026—Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, accompanied by his spouse Mme. Alice Kalaw-Fernandez, attended an Iftar dinner hosted by Mr. Walid Mushtaq, Chief Executive Officer of the Roots International Educational Network. The gathering also served as a farewell dinner in honor of outgoing Bulgarian Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Irena Gancheva.

The event brought together members of the diplomatic corps, prominent members of the Pakistani business and education communities, and senior government officials. Among the distinguished guests were Yousaf Raza Gilani, Chairman of the Senate of the Senate of Pakistan, and Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Ambassador Fernandez’s attendance at the event forms part of his continuing efforts to foster mutual understanding, strengthen people-to-people connections, and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation between the Philippines and Pakistan, while strengthening his network with his fellow ambassadors and Pakistan’s senior officials.
