ISLAMABAD, 7 March 2026 – Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, together with his spouse, Mme. Alicia Kalaw-Fernandez, attended a special Women’s Day celebration hosted by Mr. Aziz Boolani, Global CEO of Serena Hotels, at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad.

Held as part of the “Mehfil-e-Samaa” evening organized in the spirit of Ramadan, the program featured a symposium recognizing the important role of women in society and paying tribute to women who make a difference in their communities. The discussion highlighted themes of rights, justice, and action in support of women and girls.

The evening also included a cultural program with a traditional Qawwali performance by renowned artist Imran Aziz Mian, celebrating the rich musical heritage of the region. The event concluded with a Suhoor gathering, providing an opportunity for guests to engage in meaningful exchanges.

Ambassador Fernandez’s attendance reflected the Philippines’ continued support for initiatives promoting women’s empowerment and cultural dialogue. His participation also underscored the importance of people-to-people engagement in further strengthening the longstanding and friendly bilateral relations between the Philippines and Pakistan.
